Willem completed a Bachelor’s degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Constitutional and Administrative Law at the University of Groningen. During his studies, Willem completed several internships, both at law firms and at the university. He also worked as a student assistant at the university, teaching introductory courses in General Legal Studies. Although he specialised in administrative law, his main interest lies at the intersection of public and private law. Real estate law brings these two areas together particularly well.

Willem has been working in the Property Law and Environmental Law practice since 2026, where he is part of the Property Law team. His work focuses on private law aspects of real estate, including tenancy law, purchase and lease agreements, construction law and public procurement law.
