On June 27, 2024, in collaboration with LIMES INTERNATIONAL, we held a legal seminar on Dutch employment law at Kneppelhout Rotterdam office, and about 20 representatives from Chinese companies in the Netherlands attended this legal seminar. The seminar was hosted by Mr. Job Bezemer, Partner and Attorney of Kneppelhout.
The seminar started with a keynote speech entitled “The Latest Dutch Employment Law Changes” by Ms. Soltana Wahab , attorney of our employment law department. The employment law updates that Ms.Soltana mainly introduced include: 1) salary payment for sick employee with AOW age; 2) whistleblowers Protection Act; 3) maximum transition payment; 4) untaxed homeworking allowance; 5) untaxed travel allowance; 6) obligation of tracking CO2 emissions of employees, etc.. Ms.Soltana also emphasized on the topic of termination of employment contracts and compensations, which is of great concern to Chinese companies in the Netherlands.
Mr. Reinier Braakman, tax expert from LIMES INTERNATIONAL, gave a detailed introduction on the popular topic of 30% tax ruling application for foreign employees in the Netherlands in the aspects of the conditions, the procedures, and the latest updates for 2024. He also predicted possible future changes to the policies.
After the legal seminar, our attorneys, experts from LIMES INTERNATIONAL, and representatives of Chinese companies in attendance had a heated discussion.
