Jan Hendrik studied law and history at Leiden University. When he studied law, he discovered that he was particularly interested in corporate and European law, so he wanted to specialize in those fields. During the bachelor’s programme, Jan Hendrik did the extra-curricular minor in European Union Studies and decided to focus in the master’s programme on corporate law, obtaining his master’s degree in 2015. During his academic years, Jan Hendrik worked as a student trainee at various firms. During one of those traineeships, he got to know the firm of Kneppelhout. He was so filled with enthusiasm that he decided to write his master thesis on company director disqualification, while training at Kneppelhout, and afterwards joined the firm.

I work in the Corporate Law section of Kneppelhout, dealing with corporate law matters in the widest sense possible, with the emphasis on insolvency law, and mergers and acquisitions.

In my spare time, I like to travel to sunny countries coupled with visiting historic places of interest. That way, I can express my other passion, European history.
