Since September 2022, Jim has been working as a lawyer at Kneppelhout. Prior to that, he gained experience at an administrator’s office. His HBO bachelor’s degree in Commercial Economics sparked an early interest in corporate law. In 2022, he graduated from Erasmus University Rotterdam with a specialisation in Corporate Law, where he had previously obtained his bachelor’s degree in Law.

In May and June 2022, Jim completed a student internship at Kneppelhout. The positive atmosphere at the firm and the extensive guidance he received led him to return as a full-time team member. He is now part of the Corporate Law section, with a particular interest in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). “Through mergers and acquisitions, you can create a valuable, sustainable, and efficient structure that enhances both the efficiency and quality of a company.”

• Advising the buyer or seller in an acquisition process
• Conducting due diligence and advising on the impact of findings on an acquisition/transaction
• Providing legal structuring advice and guiding corporate restructurings from a corporate law perspective
• Leading various mergers, including international cross-border mergers
• Advising on corporate governance and statutory authorities within a company
• Advising on and drafting agreements within corporate law, such as a shareholders’ agreement

In his free time, Jim can be found at the hockey club. Besides playing hockey, he also regularly picks up a golf club to play a 9-hole round.
